Dr. Elizabeth Engall
Dr. Engall grew up on the peninsula of the Bay Area and earned a bachelors in science at UC Davis where she studied psychology and neuroscience. After college she worked in a neuroscience research lab where she learned about the auditory system and discovered the amazing field of veterinary medicine. After starting veterinary school at UC Davis she quickly fell in love with small animal medicine and made a full transition to caring for dogs and cats. While in veterinary school Dr. Engall also served as a class president for multiple years and help found a veterinary outreach program in rural Nicaragua. After completing her DVM Dr. Engall and her husband moved to San Diego where she worked at a busy small animal practice as an associate veterinarian. After 6 years of enjoying the sun and beach, however, the draw of the bay area was too great and they moved home to permanently settle in the east bay. Dr. Engall loves working with dogs and cats, helping them from puppy and kitten-hood to their senior years and through everything from skin allergies to major illnesses. For her the best part of being a veterinarian is building deep and trusting relationships with her patients and their families. In her free time Dr. Engall enjoys the outdoors, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her husband, young son, and their golden retriever, Flash!
